What is Spiritual Fitness

The Y is interested in your spiritual and mental health as well as your physical wellbeing. To that end we offer our Q Place Groups and other opportunities for spiritual strengthening throughout the year for Y members and the community. Here are some current ways you can plug into the Y spiritually. Watch the Events section of the Y website for upcoming events. New ideas are always welcome!

A group of Y members, staff, and other friends make up the prayer team.  The team prays for all the requests that come into the prayer boxes, and are also asked to be in prayer for the Y in a general way.  If intercessory prayer is a calling for  you, we invite you to consider being part of this team.

Our YMCA association is blessed to have a team of chaplains available to us for prayer, council, conversation, or any issue that might need their help.  Our chaplains are men and women of a variety of ages, ethnicities, and Christian denominations.  They are in place to help with the Christian ministry purposes of the Y.  Should you want to speak with one of them, contact Nancy Klaassen at 815-434-1869.

Have Questions? Want to talk about God and the Bible?

We have a group to fit your needs!

You are invited to attend any of the Y’s discussion groups. These groups are a great place to ask  questions and share beliefs and thoughts.
